  Stark Raven 9" Action Figures
from Endless Horizons Entertainment

© Endless Horizons Entertainment

The first series is comprised of Stark Raven, Scorpion, Cobretta, Sting Rayzor, Lunacy, Deathshadow, and Vinny.

The Good:
Art Asylum has done a wonderful job on the sculpting of these figures. You don't ususally see this kind of quality on an independent comic line, but fortunately this is something that is rapidly changing. Each figure comes with a variety of accessories and a diorama base to stand them on. They also have an amazingly large amount of articulation. There is a variant that is very interesting. Vinny the Victim is available as a standard appearing figure or as the Deathshadow sees him. The Deathshadow version has an upper body made largely of translucent green plastic with a visible skeleton inside.

The Bad:
There are a couple of drawbacks to these figures. The main one being their size. They do not fit in with any existing action figure lines, and they do take up quite a bit of room. While they do have an amazing amount of articulation, especially for their size, this can be a bit of a hinderance. With his wings attached, it takes some time to get Stark Raven to stand properly, even on his base, because it wants to lean back, and the ankle joints want to let this happen since they don't allow for forward pivoting. They would also benefit from a little more articulation in the arms, for instance to let Stark Raven hold the nunchucks in both hands.

The Ugly Truth:
Rating: 4 - It doesn't get much better than this.
These are great figures. The sculpting does a fantastic job of recreating the look and feel of the comic's characters. If you're a scale purist, these may not be for you, otherwise, these would be a great addition to any collection.

Comments:
Although the first series shows to be comprised of seven figures, I have yet to find anyone who has seen more than the first four: Stark Raven, Cobretta, Scorpion, and Vinny. This is a series with a lot of potential. It has great character designs and great sculpting. There is even an animated series on the horizon. Hopefully, we'll see some 6" figures in the future.
