  Special Forces 6" Action Figures
from ReSaurus

© ReSaurus

The first series is comprised of a US Green Beret (Recon Officer), a US Green Beret (Urban Sniper), a US Navy SEAL (Fire Team), a US Navy SEAL (CQB), a US Green Beret (MAC Advisor), and a US Navy Seal (Combat Diver).

The Good:
This is the first set I have ever seen of well-made well-detailed modern military special forces. These figures are incrdibly detailed, and accurately so, even down to the tread on the soles of the boots. They also have the most unusual feature I have ever seen. Each figure's head is removeable and interchangeable to allow for multiple characters from the same team. Future accessory set releases will include spare heads not included with any figure. They also have more articulation (16 points) than I have seen in a long time. Points include neck, shoulder (rotate and pivot), upper arm, elbow, wrist, waist, hip, knee, and ankle. Finally, each figure comes with a main weapon, sidearm, and accessories, such as binouculars and grenades. The holsters hold the sidearm with laser, and there is a slot for the silencer.

The Bad:
There's not much bad to say about these figures. They do suffer from one problem that most figures share. They can not always properly hold their weapons, especially the Urban Sniper. Some of the weapons also appear to be a fraction small, like the MP5A5. Finally, although they stand well on their own, and it does make for a more accurate figure, I would have liked stand holes in the feet to allow for more stable poses, and even action poses.

The Ugly Truth:
Rating: 5 - What are you waiting for? BUY IT NOW!
I'm amazed it's taken so long for someone to get the idea that this is a good concept for an action figure line. They are sized to match perfectly with N2 Toys' The Matrix figures and McFarlane Toys' Metal Gear Solid figures, which can make for some interesting diorama possibilities. I would highly recommend these for anyone who collects military or action figures, and especially someone who collects both. Let's hope there a big success so we can see more releases in the near future.

Coming Soon:
There are three accessory sets on the near horizon to accompany these figures:

  • Small Arms - This set is to include: M4, M4 with M203, FAMAS, MP5SD6, USP, USP with LAM and silencer, and two spare heads.
  • Sniper Post - This set is to include: camo net, .50 caliber ammo box, maps, binoculars, PVS-7 night vision goggles, USP, Haskins .50 caliber sniper rifle, and two spare heads.
  • Field Gear - This set is to include: field radio, canteens, frag grenades, smoke grenades, swim fins, USP, MP5A5, spare chest, and two spare heads.
