News:

October 28, 2000

Well, it took me a lot longer than I had hoped, but the first new project article is posted. Visit the Projects section to learn about Jim Shima's Pulse Rifle Counter. I am working on the articles about Dean Overaker's Pulse Rifle Grenades and Alberta Industrial Models's VP-70. I hope to have them finished and up in a few days.

Before I start the news, I would like to take a minute to clear something up. I have been getting a lot of e-mails lately asking about what I sell. At this time, I don't sell anything. This site is purely informational. That is not to say that this will not change in the future, but that's how it stands now.

If you are looking to buy something, there are many good retailers out there. Many of them are listed in the Links section.

If you are a retailer, and you would like to advertise on this site to get your name out in front, contact me.

If you have AirSoft or Sci-Fi Movie Guns info that you would like to share, let me know.

Great apologies to Martin Taylor. The last update should have sited his name for the Pulse Rifle Blueprints. I had roughed out the text to fix it before posting and forgot it. Be sure to check out his stuff.

Yes, I'm still here. I've just been inordinately busy lately. There has been tons of news since the last update, so I'll get started without any further delay.

© Den TrinityDen Trinity has created yet another new custom AEG AirSoft replica. This time it is of the FN M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW). A gas-powered replica that was converted to AEG, and didn't stop there, this is a long term project of theirs with beautiful results. Learn more about it here.

Info on Tokyo Marui's new releases is now available at BB Gun Land. The text is not in English, but there are lots of great photos even if you can't read it.

© EternityFor those of you into Terminator, there's a new customizable card game from Eternity. There are two different starter decks, one for the Resistance, and one for Skynet. There are also booster packs available. The rarest of the booster cards appears to be one for a Barrett .50 rifle. I have not even been able to find out how to get this card, as some sources say that it was a promo and some say that it is a booster pack insert. The current incarnation only covers the first movie, but I would expect to see T2 booster packs in the near future.

There is yet another new company in the 1/6 scale figure market. InToyz is a new company that has already produced some impressive product. Voyager Toys has received the new PSG-1 and MP-5 sets from InToyz, and the quality is stunning. The PSG-1 comes with a carrying case as well as individual rounds and spent casings. Retail is $12.95. The MP-5 set contains an MP5A4 and an MP5A5 as well as a P7 and a USP. The bolt actions and slides function on each gun, and there are spare clips for each. The clips are even removeable on the pistols. Retail is $9.95. There will be another MP-5 set in the near future that will have an MP5K and an MP5K-PDW as well as spare clips for each. The MP5 will fit inside the included briefcase to make the Secret Service version. Retail is projected at $9.95 as well.
They are also producing a nice series of 4" figures based on a SWAT team. Figures based on the Navy SEALs will be out later this year. They also have plans for a stand that will let you place 12" figures in action poses, a 1/6 scale gun rack, and their own line of 12" figures.

DML has released the first two sets in their new line of Action Figure Minis. These figures are a cross between Lego and Kubrick, and they include a large number of accessories. The two sets available so far are based on their 12" SDU figures. One set has Michael Chan and a terrorist called Turkey. The other set has Wai and Ray. Voyager Toys has both sets in stock now for $14.95 each.

DML has announced several new additions to their 12" figure line, and I highly recommend going to check out their site. However, I felt it necessary to make special mention of two of them.
At left is a picture of the new sniper figure dubbed Greg. Yes, that is a Barrett 50 Caliber that he's packing. The detail photos of it on their site are incredible. There will be a special version available from Cyber-Hobby.com that will have the flash suppressor that is usually seen on the end of the weapon as well as spare clips. The mass-market version will be available next week from Voyager Toys.
At right is a picture of the new DEVGRU figure dubbed Shane. Get this, he's packing a M4 with a cut-down Remington M870 slung underneath. The detail photos of it on their site are incredible, and as far as I know, this is the first time this weapon has been produced. He will be available the week after next from Voyager Toys.

ALIENS fans who have preordered a Playstation 2 have reason to rejoice. In addition to the ALIENS Resurrection game coming for the PS1 and the ALIENS Colonial Marines based game coming for the Color Gameboy, Check Six Games has announced a new game for the Playstation 2. This game will focus on the Colonial Marines, as featured in ALIENS. More details as they become available.

© Kaiyodo-Xebec © Kaiyodo-Xebec

Kaiyodo/Xebec toys have been slowly releasing a line of 8" action figures based on the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Although I'm not terribly fond of the mech designs, they do have two features that make them worth buying. They all include one Anime-style gun, but they also include a scaled replica of a real gun as well. One of the newer ones, Prototype 00 (Gold variant) comes with a SPAS-12 with folding stock and spare shells. Another one, Prototype 00 (Metallic Blue variant) comes with a Barrett .50 Caliber rifle. These figures are also extremely poseable. This allows for combat poses much closer to real than most other figures on the market.

For those of you who were wondering, progress on the AirSoft ALIENS Pulse Rifle Projects is moving forward. Slowly, but forward none the less. There are some new pictures up in the Projects section.

As usual, there are tons of new links. Be sure to peruse the Links section before you go.

I'm hoping to finally get the new photographs this weekend, so look for articles on Dean Overaker's Pulse Rifle Grenades, Jim Shima's Pulse Rifle Counter, Alberta Industrial Models' VP-70 kit, and Martin Taylor's Pulse Rifle Blueprints to be added next week.
