There has been a new article posted to the Projects section about the ALIENS Pulse Rifle Case by Phil Steinschneider.

The Media section is now active again.

If you're looking for that hard to find movie poster, check out Deck the Halls. I visited one here in San Antonio, and they either have or can order most everything, including ALIEN I, II, III, and IV, The Matrix, Starship Troopers, and Terminator I and II.

The new Movie Maniacs Series 3 and Spawn Classic Series 17 figures are now available from McFarlane Toys. Movie Maniacs Series 3 includes Ash from Army of Darkness, Snake Plissken from Escape from LA, Shaft, Edward Scissorhands, the Fly, the Blair and Norris creatures from The Thing, and a deluxe King Kong. The hard to find figures are Snake, Ash, and Edward. Spawn Classic Series 17 includes Spawn, Medieval Spawn, Al Simmons, Tiffany, Clown, and Malebolgia. The hard to find figures are Spawn, Medieval Spawn, and Tiffany.

From Michael Frost of MFI:

http://democrats.assembly.ca.gov/english/featurestory/20000228-615.htm

MFI official position is that this law does not go far enough... Children (Under 18 years) should not be allowed to have any thing that even remotely looks like a gun. They have no rights as citizens in regards to firearms and thus the Gov of CA should not allow them anything at all. Perhaps it is time to truly protect the youth of our nation. We support the rights of parents to teach (or under supervision) allow the use of real firearms to any child of any age within the realm of CA Law. The use of any toy weapon (gun, knife, spear etc.) airsoft included should not be allowed by any State or Parent as PLAY with weapons of any kind desensitize the child to think killing is fun. Let them have real weapons with real responsibilities and real consequences... this way they may learn something.

Adults on the other hand have plenty of rights in this area and should fight this. MFI although we are moving outside CA. we will fight this law if they make any attempt to include this as meaning airsoft for adults. We reasoning is this:

  1. Airsoft in a adults hands has never caused any problems.
  2. Airsoft for an adult is already regulated by the FED and CA. we need no more laws.
  3. Airsoft is not a toy as MFI pays 13% to 18% duty at import per US Customs/US Treasury Definition as a bb gun and firearms have the same Harmonized Tariff Code where as "Toys" are Duty free.
  4. BATF has determined that airsoft is regulated by their office and that the importer must be registered with the BATF and have all documents pre-approved before BATF import forms will be signed for final clearance.

MFI will sue the State of Ca. just as we sued the Fed. Gov. DOC in 1996 to allow sales to reg. civilians. These are not toys and MFI does not sell to anyone under the age of 21.

I apologize for the lack of uploads yesterday. We finally get rain, and it knocks out the power and punches a hole in my roof. Well, I'm back now.

The Download, Links, Mailing List, and Projects sections are now back up. I will get more sections back up ASAP.

Yes, you are at the right web-site!

You may notice some changes to this site. When I originally conceived of VirtuArms.com, my intent was to create a site for those interested in AirSoft, Sci-Fi movie guns, and making working AirSoft versions of Sci-Fi movie guns. Well, I have gotten away from that original goal. I tried to incorporate too much information, and in so doing, didn't include enough of what I wanted. To that end, I have decided on the changes you see before you.

How exactly has the site changed?

  1. The name: The new name of the site is Sci-Firearms. I feel that this more appropriately expresses the purpose of the site. For the sake of convenience, you will be able to access the site by the new URL, http://www.Sci-Firearms.com, and, for the next few months, you will still be able to use the old URL of http://www.VirtuArms.com.

  2. Sections: There are no longer separate sections for 3D CGI, Games, AirSoft, Movie Guns, and Collectibles. They have all been rolled in together. Their links will still be separated in the Links section of this site.

  3. Content: As I said, the focus of this site is going to return to AirSoft, Sci-Fi movie guns, and making working AirSoft versions of Sci-Fi movie guns. I offer an open invitation to anyone who has done a project that fits one of these criteria to submit an article for inclusion on this site. If you don't know HTML, feel free to forward your materials to me, and I will take care of that for you. For some examples of these articles, see Simon Friend's ALIENS Motion Tracker project in the Movie Guns section, as well as Huard Harral's Sten Mk. V project and Keagan Burke's M203 project in the AirSoft section.

Not all of the sections have been reformatted yet. They will be put back up over the next few days. Some of them will go back up this later this evening. In the meantime, please feel free to let me know what you think of the redeigned site and focus.
