© Moose Lake PublishingPearl Harbor cover story:
Although it's not Sci-Fi, Pearl Harbor does promise to be this year's hottest movie, and biggest user of movie guns. If you'd like to see some info on the weapons featured in it, check out the June, 2001 issue of Small Arms Review. It is their cover story, and it is on newsstands now.

Also of interest in this issue is information about the future of military arms, including the OICW (which was mentioned in the May 4 update below).

© Mamoru Oshii New Japanese Sci-Fi:
Franck-Edouard Galbert has informed me of an upcoming Japanese movie called Avalon. It is from Mamoru Oshii who was involved with such classics as Ghost in the Shell and Jin-Roh. The site is in Japanese, but the trailer is incredible. If you can provide translations for any of the information, please let me know, and I will give you credit here.

More AirSoft Tomb Raider guns:
If you are still looking for AirSoft replicas of the USP Match from Heckler & Koch, the guns shown carried by Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) in posters for the new movie Tomb Raider, Backyard Safari has informed me that they also have the spring-powered version for $25 each, and they are available in black or duotone.

© Western ArmsAirSoft M9000S news:
Back on March 08, 2000 I reported that BB Gun Land had some information about the new Western Arms M9000S. At the end of March, Vanderlait@aol.com was kind enough to provide a translation, but unfortunately I got busy creating the M41-A Pulse Rifle Resource and overlooked it. A bit delayed, and with apologies, here is the translation:

Compact polymer frame hand gun made by Beretta. Excellent choice to carry for self defence.

AirSoft news from MFI:
Latest News on New Products From MFI: Some are up on the web site others are not.

2 NEW RED DOT SCOPES· NOT ON WEB SITE YET:

RED DOT (Laser Aim Point) #1
This is a REAL WEAPONS SIGHT· Built to take the punishment of a center fire cartridge but, also manufactured to MFI specifications to work on airsoft guns as well. Generic version of the Pro Point Tasco 45mm which is normally $250.00+ retail· We have contract that allows us to make identical Red Dots to the Pro Point without the Tasco Logos· Exact same technology and manufacture (as Tasco contact manufactures 75% of their items).

Lens: Super wide 45mm tube/objective lens for superior light collection and greatest field of view.
Size/Weight: Compact: (4.75 inches long X 3ä high and weight 5.5 ounces).
Base: Comes with low profile base (mounted) that connects to any Weaver or Picatinny base by means of thumb tightening/quick release knobs. Base is adjustable (knob lock downs) from .75ä to 1ä 5/8· which is the spacing between lock downs. This gives you greater latitude in positioning with odd ball scope mounts.
Tube: Single piece aircraft aluminum. Gas filled, Anti-Fog & Anti Glare coated (same bronze coating as used on astronaut helmet face shields. This coating also tints (not as much as seen in photo) a slight greenish blue. Tinting is about 1/4 that of any standard pair of sunglasses.
Adjustments: Full adjustable for windage and elevation.
Red Dot Settings: 11 brightness settings for the single standard red dot.

Photo only of a rear view of the reticale / red dot of the above product mounted on a real 870 shotgun.

Comes with: Cleaning Cloth and 2 batteries (3v Lithium common camera style battery ãCR2032ä). Only one battery is required for operation the other is a FREE Spare for later use.

NOTE: Low profile mount is specifically designed for us with ITT 6015 monocular Gen. III night vision so that the height of the mount and of the ITT 6015 match exactly.

A = ITT Gen. Iii Monocular Night Vision
B = MFI 45mm Red Dot Scope
C = Mount for ITT
D = MFI 6ä Lower Rail. Mounted to top of 870 shotgun.

M16/M4 Applications: Additionally the height/profile of the MFI Red-Dot 45mm is exactly the correct height to mount to any M16/M4 flat top and have the red dot be just above the front site post as well as the correct position for use with any flip up rear sight.

HK MP5/G3 Applications: As you can see from these photos this weapons site mounts directly to the standard HK style claw mount. Far better in every way than the Tokyo Marui Red Dot which is more money too. Ideal for quick target acquisition without loss of field of view. This allows fast reaction time to the secondary target without loss of accuracy.

RED DOT (Military Laser Aim Point) #2
This is a REAL WEAPONS SIGHT· EOTech is the contract manufacture for the Bushnell HALO weapons sight. This sight uses the same technologies but, is designed for Military / Law Enforcement applications. Smaller in size to the Bushnell version this site has also an added protective (bash plate) that surrounds the optical glass and laser projection device. In short better, stronger, and less costly than the civilian Bushnell counterpart.

Built to take the punishment of a center fire cartridge but, also fits on airsoft guns as well. Built from the same HUD (Heads Up Display) as used in most current military fighter aircraft like the F-14, F18 and new F-22. MFI carries the top of the line offered by EOTech in this area, which means we have the version that not only emits a visible reticale but, with a push of a button the visible becomes invisible (to the naked eye) and the reticle is now Inferred. The Inferred setting is used in conjunction with night vision.Lens: Super wide 30mm X 23mm window. Optical material is SHATTERPROOF LAMINATE. Gas filled, Anti-Fog & Anti Glare coated with no tinted effect.
Size/Weight: Compact: (4.25 inches long X 2.25 inches high and weight 8.2 ounces).
Base: Comes with low profile base (mounted) that connects to any Weaver or Picatinny base by means of a single thumb tightening/quick release knob. Because it utilizes only one lock down it can be placed anywhere on any rail. No greater latitude in positioning is offered by any scope on the market.

NOTE: When used in conjunction with a HK Claw Style scope mount you will required to either: Allow the paddle quick release lock lever to rest on the side of the site or cut the paddle quick release lock lever down by 10mm. This modification can be done by MFI at no added charge if you are buying a site and HK Claw mount at the same time. It will not effect the function of the mount.
Adjustments: Fully adjustable for windage and elevation.
Red Dot Settings: 20 levels of brightness in the visible. 10 levels of brightness in the invisible/IR for night vision use.
Low Battery Warning: When battery is at or below 20% the reticle will blink.
Automatic Shut off after 8 hours: To optimize battery life if the unit has not been adjusted (in brightness) it will auto shut down after 8 hours.
Memory Settings: Units remembers it's last setting when shut off and will turn on to that same setting.
Reticle: Reticle is a lager outer ring with outer edge cross hairs and an inner dot.

Photo only of a rear view of the reticle/red dot of the above product mounted on a real 870 shotgun. Plus a full side view in close up and a diagram of the reticle.

Comes with: Detailed instructions in 4 languages (English, French, German and Spanish), 2 batteries (1.5v alkaline common ãNä size camera style battery).

NOTE: Low profile mount is specifically designed for us with ITT 6015 monocular Gen. III night vision so that the height of the mount and of the ITT 6015 match exactly.

Photo only of a side view of the above product mounted on a M16 Flat Top with an ITT 6015 Gen. III. Far right is actual reticle in IR.

M16/M4 Applications: Additionally the height/profile of the EOTech is exactly the correct height to mount to any M16/M4 flat top and have the red dot be just above the front site post as well as the correct position for use with any flip up rear sight.

HK MP5/G3 Applications: As you can see from these photos this weapons site mounts directly to the standard HK style claw mount. Ideal for quick target acquisition without loss of field of view. This allows fast reaction time to the secondary target without loss of accuracy.
