New 1/35th releases from EVA Models:
EVA Models has announced that they will soon be releasing two new Sci-Fi figures in 1/35th scale. The first is a Mobile Infantry trooper, as seen in the 3D-Animated series Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles. The second is a series of astronauts and accessories from 2001: A Space Odyssey. I will have more details on both of these as they become available.

Paintball replicas of real steel:
Extreme Sports & Hobbies is offering paintball replicas of famous guns. Their selection currently includes the M60, MP5, Thompson 1928 (shown), and several more. If you want to play paintball with a more realistic replica, or have been looking to make a paintball version of your favorite Sci-Fi movie gun, this might be your answer.

© Mutual Film AirSoft Tomb Raider guns:
I was recently asked if I knew of a dealer for AirSoft replicas of the guns show carried by Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) in posters for the new movie Tomb Raider. They are the USP Match from Heckler & Koch. At the time, I did not know of an AirSoft version, but I have found them at AirSoft.com in a spring-powered version for $39.99 each. They are available in black or duotone (ACP3105), and spare magazines, also available in black or silver, are $15.00 each.

© Tokyo Marui Tokyo Marui P90 Released:
The long awaited AirSoft AEG version of the P90 by Tokyo Marui has finally been released. Initial release in Japan was on April 12th, and 747 Imports has informed me that they are expecting their shipment in the next 7-10 days. Several dealers have already pre-sold their entire first shipment. So, if you want this one, get it quick. This is going to be a popular replica, and the red-dot scope will only be included in the first production run as an "Anniversary" item.

© MaruzenMaruzen M870 Grip Version Released:
DEN Trinity has received in the new Maruzen gas-powered Remington M870 Grip Version replicas. Good news for those building a Pulse Rifle, as the Combat Shorty version has been impossible to find lately. The long version (left) is $179 plus shipping, and the Shorty (right) version is $170 plus shipping. Sets of spare shells are $15 plus shipping. Unlike the spring-powered AirSoft shotgun replicas from Tokyo Marui, these will actually cycle the shells through the gun and eject them when they are spent.

According to this photo, found at Ain't It Cool News, it appears that the new bad guys (the Virii, a race of destructive operatives working for the Agents) in the upcoming The Matrix 2 will be using H&K UMPs. This replacement for the venerable MP5 isn't even widely available yet. You can find some great, and much clearer, pictures of the UMP at HKPro.

Also, stop by The Matrix's official site to see a 3D animatic of the new hovership design featured in Bill Sienkiewicz's new comic Broadcast Depth. Access it by clicking on the flashing "A" in the logo.

P90 news from MFI:
Dear MFI Customer Interested in P90 UPDATES:

You requested to be informed when the FN P90 was made into an airsoft weapon. Well after years of waiting we are happy to announce that Tokyo Marui is now in production of the P-90. MFI has work with Marui on this project for sometime now assisting with drawings and rights to make this model. MFI has secured rights to import the P90 and we have received our Federal Approval on the DOC marking. In short the highly protected P90 (IPR: Design Patents / Utility Patents and Tradedress have all been arranged by us so that you may legally own one of these. It is IMPORTANT for you to keep your MFI invoice as this is your proof that your specific P90 is not in violation of International Patent Law. Do not confuse this with Trademarks, as that is a completely different matter· Trademarks can be removed but, Patents are how things look and operate and can only be secured via royalty rights).

Marui will release the first standard production P90s on or about 04-12-2001. Please note that Marui has been plagued with production management problems from their subcontractors / parts suppliers in the past 17 months and this date (like all Marui and other manufactures dates) is an ESTAMATION. Marui has informed MFI that as usually they will have our P90s upgraded (same upgrade as all our Marui AEGs for longer life) about 3 weeks after the standard guns are released. We are issuing an ETA on our P90s for 06-05-2001, which should accommodate any Marui product glitches or import delays. NOTE: Import delays always occur due to the fact that 4 different Fed. Agency Representatives must inspect each container of airsoft weapons that we import. 3 of these are relatively fast (1 Day delay per 500 units) as all they do is spot check to be sure our paper work and approval methods match. The BATF on the other hand needs to open every single box to be sure there is not a live P90 among the airsoft weapons. Marui was only able to supply us with 1100 units of P90 for this shipment but, we do have about 3800 other airsoft guns traveling with them at the same time. Typically BATF can do 250 guns per day. This is one of the reasons we supply you with an ETA as it truly is an estimation. Regardless we full expect to be in position of these weeks before our (very liberal ETA) comes to pass.

I know you are all dying for information on the P90. This has been kept very secret by Marui as there is a huge debut planned at a huge Media event on the 12th. This is what we do know from seeing the prototypes 7 months ago. Click below for photo: Again this is a photo of the prototype NOT a pilot product or production gun· those photos are top secret at the moment.
www.mfiap.com/airsoft/p90-proto_lt.jpg

SCOPE: 2 Position (Reticle) Red Dot is included (very similar to the real thing)!
Magazines: are detachable and feature semi see through configuration with dummy cartridges inside.
Magazine capacity is 68 bbs. No news on if or when Hi Cap mags will be manufactured. FYI: Real mag holds 50 rounds of the new 5.7 X 28mm (SS190 FMJ)
Spare magazines will be made available on or about 05-15-2001 and we will carry them. Price will be $48.00 RETAIL and $37.00 PMC.
Motor is EG1000 with latest Version 6 Mech. Box and Hop UP· no big deal as this is considered standard now.
Battery is mini type (Thank God!). We fought Marui for months not to make yet one more / different battery type.

Rail system (RIS) is identical to the real thing (just one of 14 Patents we had to negotiate for). Real P90 RIS consists of single right side 4ä rail which can be moved to opposite side in minutes and front flat mounting surface just below the barrel and forward of the trigger pack grip. The forward mounting surface is most often where the laser goes. And the MFI laser / SMG mount is plug and play in this area. Most common accessories for the real weapons are Lasers and flashlights. As on the real thing all MFI manufacture Lasers and Lights will work on this weapon as plug and play.

MFI APPROVED DOC Marking is same as our M4A1, M16A2, AKs and AUGs. Thus Tracer units and NEW MFI SOCOM and M4 Military FAKE Silencers will fit this weapon with no modification and no need of an adapter.

MFI will likely manufacture (very limited basis) an exact copy of the FN P90 suppressor for you die hard collectors. ETA is likely late 2001 as we have so many other projects in development/manufacture at this time.

Upper and Lower Frames do separate similar to the AUG series (little faster as like on the real thing it is just a one pin push and slide the upper off. This is nice in that there is no right angle to push a bb through if a jam occurs. You AUG owners know this personally that when receivers are separated the barrel is a clean straight shot which was unique in airsoft until now.
Sling hook ups are identical to the real thing. Which means they will not accommodate a standard military sling. Marui has expressed little interest in making these so MFI is working to see if FN will accommodate us or whither we have to make an adapter for our slings.
Upper and Lower frames / receivers are very close in shape and texture of the real thing. And there is nearly as much metal on the airsoft version as the real thing. Very similar to AUG construction style.
Mode of fire is Semi and Full Auto (same as real thing) and our estimated FPS will be about 315 + or -. Rate of fire is likely around 600 RPM same as real thing.

Repeat manufacturing: Like all new airsoft models it is impossible to say when Marui will do a second production of this item but, in general is like MP5A5 (the most popular) production runs every 9-11 months. If like PSG-1 or SIG 550 about 18 months between product runs.

Price is $485.00 which includes RIS, Red Dot Scope, Mag, Battery and Charger of course full MFI 45 Day Risk Free Money Back Guaranty and Life Time Warranty. ETA is set at 06-05-2001.
Prepay and wait special offer: $400.00 for full set. Dead line to order is 05-01-2001 (sooner as we are pre selling only 500 units· while they last).

See the below link for details on MFI Warranty / PREPAY & WAIT methods, options and refunds.

Just to clear up some confusion that seems to be out there, participating in the Sci-Firearms.com Poll to the right will not send any information, other than your vote, to anyone, including me. It also will not send you to another page or open another page. When you click on the button, this page will be reloaded, and the current results of the poll will be displayed where the poll is now.
